Scholarship Information

This scholarship is open to all young women who meet the Eligibility Criteria. Two scholarships will be awarded. 

Scholarships will be awarded by August 15, 2026. 

• Must be a female high school senior.
• Must be a resident of Baltimore, Maryland or Columbia, South Carolina.
• MUST LIVE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS (NOT SURROUNDING COUNTIES).
• Must be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as a full-time student.

• Meet all requirements of Eligibility Criteria.
• Complete Scholarship Application.
• Write required Essay. MINIMUM 250 word count.
• Proof of acceptance into an accredited college or university. MUST be on official letterhead.
• Most recent high school transcript.
• One (1) Letter of Recommendation. MUST be on letterhead or include contact information.
• Copy of FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) or documentation of household income.
• Additional information may be requested.

The essay must be a minimum of 250 words and answer the following question: 

  The Brittany K. Booker Foundation encourages young women to lead with purpose and serve their communities. Describe a time when you took action to make a positive difference in your school, neighborhood, or community. What inspired you to get involved, and what impact did your efforts have on others?

• One student from Baltimore, Maryland - $1,000
• One student from Columbia, South Carolina - $1,000
• Application must be received by April 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
• All applicants will be notified via email once application is received.
• The applicants selected for the scholarships will be notified via email by June 30, 2026. 
• Scholarships will be awarded by August 15, 2026.

The scholarship committee (members of the Brittany K. Booker Foundation) will review the Application. A total of up to 10 points will be given to each applicant:

• Financial Need – 3 points
• Extracurricular Activities – 3 points
• Essay – 2 points
• G.P.A. – 2 points
• Optional Video Introduction – 1 extra point
